Message from the Junior Province Vice Polemarch
My Brothers:
First, let me say thanks to all the members of the Alpha Psi Chapter for making our experience at the CRWLC a pleasant one. You brothers did an excellent job getting things prepared and completed. Again, thank you, especially for your ability to get the other Greek organizations to support our presence on campus. That was an honor beyond words.
The next item of business was the training sessions, testing, and the undergraduate seminar. The training sessions were excellent, especially Brother Morgan's Keeper of Records and Exchequer training. All those who attended only stated excellent things about the training. Brother Morgan, continue the good work and effort to keep everyone up on the training. Also, during the training the undergraduates held a seminar in which those from alumni chapters were available to attend and share their knowledge and experience. Undergraduate chapters voted to recommend that future C. Rodger Wilson Leadership Conferences for the fall be changed to the first weekend in October if scheduling is available. This is recommended so as to allow certification paperwork along with initiation paperwork to be reviewed and corrected prior to the CRWLC.
There were also recommendations made in the best interest of the fraternity to have undergraduate Polemarch conference calls within our province. These are just some of the excellent ideas that came from the meetings in Pittsburg, with many more to come in the near future.
I would also like to say to the new members of our fraternity from the Eta, Alpha Mu, Beta Nu, Zeta Omega, Iota Omega, Omicron Zeta, Langston Alumni, Lawton-Ft. Sill Alumni, and Norman Alumni Chapters . . . welcome to "The Bond" and thanks for making our fraternity much larger with the knowledge from such great men as yourselves.
Finally, there was the BONDING of brothers all around. During my speech at the luncheon I spoke about brotherhood, and that's what I saw during the events following the training conference. This type of bonding is what I picture the fraternity to be and we proved it in Pittsburg, Kansas. Hopefully, we will prove it again on February 1st and 2nd when the Beta Nu Chapter will host the undergraduate summit in St. Louis. Be prepared to have a great time.
Yours in the Bond, Dozens of photos from the CRWLC

We're WIRED For Business . . . and pleasure!
Our first step was to create "static" e-mail addresses for our province officers, committee chairmen, and every Chapter Polemarch throughout the province. For example, the new e-mail address for our Province Reporter, Brother Freddie D. Frazier, is "Reporter@KAPsiMWP.com". Mail sent to that address is forwarded to Brother Frazier's primary e-mail account, wherever that may be. Let's say that Brother Frazier hits the lottery, moves to Switzerland, and is unable to continue fulfilling his duties as our Province Reporter. Should that happen, we would re-direct the Reporter's "static" address to some other member who would replace Brother Frazier. The province "owns" these addresses, and we can re-route them wherever we please. Likewise, every Chapter Polemarch who already has his own "primary" e-mail address at the ISP of his choice, also has a province-sponsored e-mail address for messages that are re-routed to his primary address. If he changes his ISP, or if the chapter elects a different Polemarch, we simply re-direct mail to the new location as soon as we are notified of the change. Therefore, no matter which member becomes Polemarch of the Denver Alumni Chapter, if he already has any e-mail address whatsoever, we may contact him by sending messages to "Denver@KAPsiMWP.com". A full list of all such forwarding addresses will be posted as part of the migration to the new service, and other features of our expansion will be announced as they are activated. One VERY IMPORTANT service that we utilize will NOT change in the foreseeable future. Our use of the "YahooGroups" (formerly "eGroups") service will continue to be a means of providing "chapter-specific" communication links, report facilitation and file storage. Every chapter of our province has its own, FREE "YahooGroups" service, with membership limited to financial members of the chapter, plus the Province Polemarch, Province Keeper of Records & Exchequer, and in the case of our undergraduate chapters, the Chapter Advisor. At the direction of our Province Polemarch, each chapter shall use this FREE service for posting its financial reports, minutes, calendar of events, and other required data. Reports that might otherwise be sent to our province via postal delivery should instead be posted on the chapter's "YahooGroups" site. This technology is available to every chapter, and we intend to use it to its maximum advantage. The Province Polemarch's ultimate goal is for all of us to become as "paperless" as may be practical. We will soon construct a set of step-by-step instructions for chapter's to follow that will assure compliance with the Province Polemarch's directives. That document will also illuminate the "pleasure" aspect of using some of these Internet services. For now, suffice it to say that we're making great strides and there is more . . . MUCH more . . . on the horizon. |

Chapter Advisor Training - November 3rd, Colorado Springs The next Chapter Advisor Training Workshop will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2001, at the Sheraton Hotel in Colorado Springs. The room rate is $73 per night, and reservations may be made by calling 800-981-4012.
ALL Chapter Advisors must attend this training in order to be certified to serve in that capacity. The Advisor's alumni chapter of affiliation is responsible for financing travel, hotel and perdiem expenses as a function of providing support for the undergraduate chapter(s) over which the alumni chapter has supervisory authority. Keep this in mind as you plan your alumni chapter budget for the coming year! 79th Province Council Souvenirs

E-Mail Addresses
The technology of the Internet is becoming more than a luxury in the year 2001. Business and personal communication is becoming "defined" by an E-mail address and connection to the World Wide Web. Our province is clearly committed to the maximum use of this medium, and we can only be successful with your help. Should you change your E-mail address, please remember to notify us as soon as possible. And please help us identify every other member of our province who may have access to this technology. Spread the word!
25 Year Membership Pin The Middle Western Province has authorized the production of a Twenty-Five Year Membership Pin to recognize those members who were initiated at least twenty-five years ago. The pin is circular in design and cast in a silver color. It is wrapped in a laurel wreath, emblazoned with the number "25" in the center with a small nugget below the number, and the words "Middle Western Province" around the bottom with "Kappa Alpha Psi" around the top. There is a dwindling supply at a cost of $25 each. Contact our Province Keeper of Records & Exchequer to purchase your pin today. Don't miss this one! Order now - While Supplies Last!
