Brothers All:

As we approach the 2007-2008 fraternal year, which officially starts October 1st I would like to take this opportunity to thank the 31st Grand Chapter Polemarch, Dwayne M. Murray, Esquire for appointing me as the National Guide Right Commission Co-Chairman. I will be sharing this honor and responsibility with Brother Larry C. McGhee, Jr. from the Baton Rouge Alumni Chapter; we will each have 6-Provinces which we will be responsible for. As your National Guide Right Commission Co-Chairman, I will work hard, stay committed and give back to the community with time, effort, and prayers. I will work closely with brothers throughout Kappa Land, the local Polemarch, the local Guide Right Chairman and brothers all in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. My goal is to ensure that we create new challenges, maintain a high level of excellence, commitment, dedication, hard work and community involvement, with our Jr. Kappa League Programs, Kappa League Programs, "Kappa Kamp" St. Jude Hospital and the A-Man Program. In my opinion, I am confident that we can do more with Guide Right! I am confident that we can do more, because every Chapter throughout the 12 Provinces does not have an active Guide Right Program. I am confident that we will continue to exhibit the drive, determination, endurance, knowledge and commitment to carry out these goals and objectives as determined by utilizing our vast experiences with brothers all.

I am committed to making sure that all Chapters, large or small, Undergraduate or Alumni, will raise the "bar" on Guide Right. Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc. was founded on Guide Right principals and is Guide Right Motivated in serving our youth of today and making them "the men of tomorrow." Once again, as I have expressed, every Chapter regardless of status will play an active role in instituting a "Guide Right Program." Now would be an excellent opportunity as we begin the fraternal year for all chapters to begin executing on that implementation. All local Chapter Polemarchs and Province Guide Right Chairman in the Province will be held accountable, so that is my charge. We as brothers boast about being the number one world superpower and about our economic and military power. But what does it say about our collective values that we are content to lag behind many other nations in caring for our children? Canada, Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and the Scandinavian. These countries place a higher priority on lifting their children out of poverty and ensuring children's basic human needs to health care, including prenatal care, than we do. We can and must do better Brothers!

Democracy, justice, freedom and safety begin at home. But our rich nation will not choose to stop child neglect or to prevent child poverty, sickness and ignorance unless we as Kappa Alpha Psi demand it.

Yours in the Bond,
Eugene D. Anderson, Jr.
National Guide Right Commission Co-Chairman
Alpharetta-Smyrna Alumni Chapter
